Bradley Burt partakes in various civic activities, as briefly mentioned in our last post. He has served as the Chairman of the Board for the Convalescent Home for Children. This foundation features a 120 bed care facility for children. The foundation focuses on individualized medical services for each patient with dedicated and professional staffing to provide the best care for these children. The facility treats patients with autism, brain injuries, physical therapy, homecare, rehabilitation, long term care, adaptive equipment, and more. The facility and services strive to keep children happy, healthy, and increase mobility, striving to help children become as self-sufficient as possible. Children with mobility and speech issues are treated equally with up to date equipment and individualized treatment. Rehabilitation is approached through multidisciplinary actions with multiple physicians in various practices take on the cases to increase the speed and quality of recovery for each child. Children with long term housing and in-home nurse needs can be obtained with up to 24-hour day nursing care. This included in-home therapy, care of general needs, and a home-like environment when children need care outside of the family home. Older children and teenagers are assisted in daily activities with a focus on striving for independence and a successful transition into adulthood in the community. Burt’s assistance to the program shows his dedication to family values and high quality of life.
Burt has also served as the President and Treasurer of the Greater Pioneer Club, a group of citizens who have family lineage centered in Des Moines for 80 years or more. Such foundations focus on the history and growth of the Des Moines area, showing pride in the area and of family histories. It is a registered nonprofit organization. One of the longest standing nonprofit organizations in the state of Iowa, it has a long history and loyal members. The group focuses on social and recreational activities, keeping members connected with each other, the community, and the history of Dew Moines.
Bradley Burt cares about his community from the youngest, newest lives to those with a much greater history. His dedication to Maid-Rite is one of the many impressive things about the man. He is wanting to protect the simplicity and beauty of Maid-Rite and the respect of Des Moines, trying to create a brighter future for the children of today, yesterday, and tomorrow. His love of his family, history, and home is admirable and keeps him going every day of his life. He is a well-loved man in his personal and professional life. We hope he’ll be wish us at Maid-Rite for years to come and that he will keep the company running smoother than ever so future generations (like those children being assisted in the Convalescent Home) can enjoy Maid-Rite sandwiches and the wonderful community in Des Moines, Iowa.
